It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Elizabeth Margaret Kmyta on October 16, 2023, at the age of 79, in Drayton Valley. Born on December 10, 1943, in the picturesque town of Carnduff, SK, Elizabeth was a beloved homemaker, who touched the lives of many with her gentle soul and captivating smile.

Elizabeth's devotion to her family was immeasurable. She cherished her role as a mother, survived by her daughters Debbie Kirby and Sheila McPherson, and her son, Ray Kmyta, with whom she shared countless treasured moments and found unending joy As a grandmother, she was a beacon of love and guidance to her seven grandchildren: Natasha, Ashley, Jordan, Meagan, Jenah, Will, and Nicole. Elizabeth's unconditional love continued to shine upon the next generation, as she leaves behind ten great-grandchildren: Jared, Kendal, Jacelyn, Ashton, Aiden, Kaylen, Allyson, Ellyette, Jace, and Belle.

Elizabeth's spirit flourished in the embrace of nature, finding solace and beauty in the smallest creatures. A passionate collector, she surrounded herself with over 500 hummingbird figurine, plates and bells, a testament to her appreciation for the delicate wonders of the world.

In the quiet moments of reflection, we remember Elizabeth's journey and offer gratitude for the cherished memories she bestowed upon us. She will forever be reunited with her parents, Roy and Elizabeth McDougall, and her three siblings, Don, Jack, and Pete.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate staff at Drayton Valley Hospital and the Points West Care Facility for their unwavering care and support during Elizabeth's illness. Your dedication made a significant impact on her final days, and we are forever grateful for your kindness.

A Memorial to celebrate Elizabeth's remarkable life will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 11 am at the Drayton Memorial Celebration Centre in Drayton Valley. In honor of Elizabeth's charitable spirit, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choosing. Let us carry forward her legacy of compassion, love, and devotion to those in need.
