Ena Veronica Kane

Ena Veronica Kane, born on January 19, 1947, in the picturesque town of Grimsby, England, embarked on her final journey on November 8, 2025, at the Drayton Valley Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. A remarkable soul, Ena's life was a tapestry interwoven with vibrant threads of compassion, joy, and unwavering dedication to the happiness and safety of children.

Throughout her years, Ena developed a fond affinity for the sea’s bounties; she delighted in the exquisite flavors of seafood, particularly lobster, scallops, and shrimp, which spoke to her deep appreciation for life's pleasures. Her home was often filled with laughter and warmth, a sanctuary that radiated her nurturing spirit, which drew children to her like moths to a flame. She loved nothing more than to nurture a flower garden, a passion that mirrored her gentle approach to life and her relentless quest for growth and beauty amid life's challenges.

Ena's vibrant personality extended far beyond her culinary tastes and green thumbs; she was an ardent enthusiast of bowling and the thrill of the casino. These hobbies enriched her life and created cherished memories among her loved ones. Among her proudest accomplishments was her dedication as an advocate for children's safety, a testament to her enduring commitment to ensure that future generations thrive in a secure environment.

Ena is survived by her beloved life partner, Wayne Sorokowski, along with her devoted children Rick, Sherry, Dwayne, and Michael (Sheryl). She extended her love to her stepdaughters, Allison and Lenora, and was a proud grandmother of Jordon, Kristen, Gordon, Dustin, Owen, Ryan, Andrew, Cameron, Brandon, Danielle, and Justin. Ena also rejoiced in the company of her great-grandchildren, Linden, Jackson, and Connor, who brought her boundless joy and fulfillment, a legacy that will forever live through them. Ena was predeceased by her sisters, Pat, Jeanette and Marge.  

In her passing, Ena leaves behind a profound impact, woven into the lives of all who knew her, as well as countless cherished memories. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Michelle Photiades, Anna Weyermand, Jeanette Ziesman, CBI Health, Michelle Williams, NP, Dr. Van Staten, and the exceptional staff at the Drayton Valley Hospital for their unwavering love and support during her final days.

While we bid farewell to Ena Veronica Kane, let us remember her as a beacon of love, an advocate for the innocent, and a friend to many. Her spirit will continue to illuminate our lives, reminding us of the importance of compassion, the joy of connection, and the cherished moments spent together.
