It is with saddened hearts that the family of Eugenia Jean (Bura) Ditner announce her passing on Thursday, September 15th, 2022, at the age of 90 years old. Jean, as she was affectionately known, was born to Pioter and Akilina (Semeniuk) Bura May 9th, 1932, in Zosin, Poland, the fourth of six children: Olga, Nikolaj (Nick), Nadzisja (Nancy), Maria (Mary), and Vera. The Bura family left Poland in 1938 for Canada, finally settling on a farm north of Styal, AB, where they worked hard to make a home.
Jean married on June 15th , 1950, settling north of Wildwood, AB and raised seven children: Darleen (Ewald) Kwirant, Nancy (Jim) Leflar, Christine (Dale) Willoughby, Kelven Ditner, Elain (Leroy) Mastaler, Jamie (Russell) Miller and Marie (David) Szautner.
Jean was known for her love of art and rocks and would often give away her creations to family and friends. This love of collecting rocks of all sizes and shapes was passed on to her 21 grandchildren; Micheal (Karrol), James (Peggy), Linda (Jason), Tammy (Kelly), Wendy (Bryce), Mark, (Megan), Amanda (Scott) Angela (Joe), Terry (Dallas), Kevin (Rhoda), Shawn (Kaili), Alison (Doug), Bradley (Krista), Barton, Kayla (Matthew), Kelsey (Bobby), Clayton, Kerrie (Jimmy), Robert, Rina (Lindsay), and Rae. Who then passed this obsession onto 33 great grandchildren: Andreas, Madeline, Shawn, Isabel, Julia, Olivia, Raya, Matthew, Jacob, Jaeli, Kyan, Miradi, Sifa, Myla, Lynkyn, Quinn, Tanner, Jacy, Isabelle, Shae, Trey, Tylee, Teryk, Alexa, Harper, Joely, Sara, Mila Jean, River, Amelie, Elliot, Wallace, and Piper.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, Pioter and Akilina Bura, her sister, Olga, her brother, Nick, and her daughter, Darleen. The family would like to thank the Drayton Valley Long Term Care and Dr. Van Staden for the love and care that they showed Grandma Jean.

A celebration of life will be held at the Wildwood Community Hall on Friday, October 7th, 2022, at 1 pm.
