It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, father, brother, husband, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend, Ian Raymie Henne.

Born in Drayton Valley, Alberta, on August 17, 1987, Ian’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who loved him. While our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the years, memories, laughter, and love we shared with him.

Above all else, Ian loved his daughter, Hazel. She was the light of his life and brought him immense joy and pride. The bond they shared will forever remain a treasured part of his story.

Ian is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Hazel; his wife, Sami; his parents, Glenda and Chuck; his sisters, Dallas (Terry) and Shauna (Colin); his cherished nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by knowing him.

Those who knew Ian knew a man who felt life deeply. He possessed a caring heart, a sharp mind, a sense of humor, and a capacity for love that touched many lives. He valued connection, cherished family, and was never happier than when spending time with those he loved.

Ian had a deep love of music and found joy, expression, and connection through playing guitar. Music was a constant companion throughout his life and a reflection of the passion and spirit he carried within him.

Like many people, Ian faced personal challenges. Through them all, he continued searching for hope, healing, and peace. He was loved deeply, and his life mattered deeply.

Though words cannot fully express our sorrow, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind, the laughter we shared, and the love that remains. We will remember his smile, his spirit, and the countless ways he touched our lives.

A Celebration of Ian’s Life will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mackenzie Centre, Drayton Valley. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor, remember, and celebrate the man we loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family has established The Ian Henne Legacy of Hope Fund in Ian’s memory. The fund will support men’s mental health, addiction awareness, recovery, and hope, offering encouragement to those facing life’s challenges. Through this legacy, Ian’s life will continue to make a difference in the lives of others.

“Find Hope. Find Strength. Keep Playing.”

Ian will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever carried in our hearts.
