It is with immense sadness that the family of Janet Moroz announce her passing at the Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre on May 27, 2023, at the age of 84 years.
Janet is survived by her sons; David and Dean (Corey) Sheeler; step-children, Daryl, Dianne, Wendy, Bonnie, Colleen, and Sandy; grandchildren, Mikayla and Cale (Mackenzie) Sheeler, great-grandson; Cooper Sheeler; siblings, Peter, Pat, and John Walker, and cousins; Jeremy, Bruce, and Rosemary.
Janet was predeceased by her husband, George Moroz, parents; Robert and Alice Walker; and father of her sons, David and Dean, Elmer Sheeler.
Born and raised in Derby, England, Janet eventually made the move to Canada where she settled down in Tomahawk, Alberta, devoting her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse, primarily working Obstetrics at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton. Janet could often be found in the kitchen, cooking delicious meals (shepherds pie was her specialty), baking cookies and pies, or canning. Janet will be remembered for her love of knitting, gardening, dancing, and world travel.
Janet’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Gigg and the staff at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre, Shangri-La Lodge, and Serenity House, for the kindness and compassion they extended to Janet.
The family invites you to lunch and fellowship from 12:00 - 1:00 PM on Saturday June 3, 2023, prior to the service.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 1:00 pm with funeral service to follow at 1:30 pm at the Drayton Memorial Celebration Centre,
5029 – 48 Street Drayton Valley. AB.
