Jason Simpson

It is with unending sadness that we announce the passing of Jason John Simpson, 35, of Drayton Valley, on January 15, 2024.

Jason was born in Vancouver on March 21, 1988, to Greg & Kathy Simpson. Jason spent the first two years of his life in Vancouver until Greg’s work took the family to Ontario. After several years there, the family moved to Prince George. They ended up in Stony Plain, Alberta when Jason was in grade 11. Jason met Lindsey in 2007 and they fell instantly in love. They got married on June 27, 2009, and before moving to Drayton Valley in 2013, Jason had a few different jobs.  For a few years, he worked at Alberta Honda and loved his role there. When Jason and Lindsey were expecting their first daughter, Jason’s in-laws asked them to move to Drayton Valley to work with them and be close to them. Jason worked at Alberta Tank Truck for 10 years and loved his work there as well. In January of 2023,  when Jason’s father-in-law decided to retire he went to work for Ted Beath Welding. Once again he was happy with his job choice and felt he had a bright future there and he had big plans.

Jason leaves behind his two daughters who were the center of his world. Lydia was born in 2013 and Ellie was born in 2015. There is nothing Jason would not do for his girls. He was wrapped around their little fingers, and them, his. Ellie was named after her daddy and always calls herself Baby Jay; a namesake that she will wear proudly for her lifetime. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lydia and Ellie’s future. Whether it be their first car, post-secondary education, their wedding, or a future down payment on their first home, Jason would be proud that his passing could contribute to the big life moments that he now can watch from afar.
