John Kaufman

It is with great sorrow that the family of John Kaufman announce his passing on April 24, 2026. Born on December 22, 1941, he spent the first 25 years of his life on his parents farm near Clyde with his four younger brothers.

John worked for a gas station at the Clyde corner for a few years after leaving school. When the gas station sold, the old owner bought a farm at Elk Point, Alberta. John went to run the farm for the owner. In the early 70's John bought a farm of his own at Breton. He worked on the oil rigs in the winter to help with the bills, but soon began farming full time, which he spent the remainder of his life enjoying.

John is lovingly remembered by his three brothers; David (Jill), Fred (Lilia), and Paul (Mavis), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. They will carry his memory forward in their hearts. John was predeceased by his father; Alois, his mother; Kate, and his brother Bill.

At John's request, there will be no funeral. A get together will be held at the Salt N' Pepper restaurant in Breton on May 14th from 1:30 - 5:00 pm. It will be a time for family and friends to reminisce and share special memories of John while enjoying a meal.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Breton Food Bank.
