Lindsay Smart, born on May 8, 1953, in England, passed away on June 12, 2025, at the Breton Continuing Care Centre, with his devoted wife, Lana, at his side. Lindsay's life was marked by a deep commitment to both his family and his work, as well as an adventurous spirit shaped by his upbringing. The son of Alexander and Marion Smart, he spent much of his childhood traveling around the world, following his father’s military career, which instilled in him a sense of curiosity and wanderlust.
Throughout his professional life, Lindsay dedicated himself to the art of flooring. He installed, repaired, and replaced various types of flooring with skill and care, earning the respect of clients and colleagues alike. His craftsmanship was admired, and he took pride in providing quality service.
Beyond his career, Lindsay found joy in the simple pleasures of life. One of his proudest accomplishments was his love for salmon fishing, a passion that brought him serenity and happiness. He also enjoyed lending a helping hand to his wife, Lana, as a camp cook on the rigs, demonstrating his willingness to support her endeavors wherever possible.
Lindsay's legacy continues through his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Lana, and his step-children: Holly-Ann St. Pierre, Edward St. Pierre, Kevin Timmons, Jacqueline Timmons and Jennifer Smart. He cherished the time spent with his 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.
Lindsay's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the excellent care that he received from Judy Miller and the staff at the Breton Care Centre. A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Lindsay on June 29, 2025, at the Breton Continuing Care Centre, at 2:00 PM. His memory will linger on in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him, and he will be dearly missed.
