Richard Mohr

Richard Mohr, a beloved father and cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at the Points West Retirement Community in Drayton Valley, Alberta. He was born on September 22, 1929, in Josephburg, Alberta.

As a young man, he moved to Drayton Valley, where he met his wife Ruth. They married in 1954 and built a life together , where they raised their children in the Moon Lake area, imparting values of hard work and community spirit.

Richard's proudest accomplishments was the family he and Ruth created together. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Deb (Fred) Tuftin, Randy (Peggy) Mohr, Lorelei Mohr (Don McLean), and Denise Mohr. Their lives reflect the lessons and values he instilled in them, a testament to his dedication as a father.

In addition to his immediate family, Richard is survived by many other relatives and friends whose lives he touched over the years. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth, his son, Phil Mohr, and all seven of his siblings, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience that will endure through the generations.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at Points West for their care and compassion during Richard's time with them.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Drayton Memorial Cremation & Funeral Services, located at 5029-48th Street, Drayton Valley. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family and friends to honor Richard's memory and celebrate his remarkable life. Following the Funeral Service, interment will take place at Easyford Cemetery (8417 Range Rd 84A, Brazeau County, AB) and lunch at Easyford Hall.
