Ross Daniels, a proud son of Eastend, Saskatchewan, was born on January 15, 1939, and took his final breath on August 27, 2025, at the Drayton Valley Hospital. He was a dedicated farmer who poured his heart and soul into the mixed livestock and grain farm he operated for many years. Ross's connection to the land ran as deep as the roots of the crops he tended, each season marking the passage of time in the cycle of farming life.
Before engaging in agricultural life, Ross served in the Canadian Air Force, a chapter in his life that added layers to his character and instilled in him values of discipline and teamwork. These experiences would shape the man he became – principled, hardworking, and ever committed to his family and community.
Despite the demands of farm life, Ross found joy in a multitude of interests. He had a love for politics that sparked engaging discussions, and his sweet tooth was legendary among friends and family – no confectionery could escape his notice. He cherished quiet evenings filled with laughter over a game of Scrabble or delightful hours watching television, where he would often get lost in the stories and characters that captivated him.
Ross’s spirit will continue to linger through the legacies of his beloved family. He is survived by his daughter, Avalon Jewels, and son, Jordan Daniels, who carry forward the values he instilled in them. Six grandchildren – Cecilia Daniels, Sean Fox, Rhys Fox, Logan Daniels, Carli Jewels, and Hanna Jewels – light up the world with the love they received from their grandfather. The joy of his lineage extends to two great-grandchildren, Alina Stechishin and Jasper Chase, each a new chapter in the story that began long ago.
Ross’s memory will also forever be cherished by his siblings: Patricia McKinnon, Terry (Marj) Daniels, Kathy Holt, and Colleen (Wally) Duncan. They will remember not only the brother they lost but the moments they shared, woven together with laughter, support, and love.
In a life well-lived, Ross tasted the sweetness of familial bonds and the richness of the earth he cherished. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we carry his legacy within us, knowing that his kindness, resilience, and love will echo through generations to come. He will be missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
